How can you tell the difference between a 2F and a 1J and where will I find the serial number????

That is a very good question. I can tell it is an early 22 just beacuase of a couple of small things. The first thing I noticed was the location of the air cleaner intake. That was an indicator to me that it was in the early group. The serial numbers can be found in two locations. The first brass tag can be found on the left side of the engine (as you sit in the seat). The second tag can be found on the back of the machine on the upper right hand corner of the transmission case. If both tags are missing the serial number should still be stamped into the cast. Hope this helps.
