Need the part number for the plastic round style pre-cleaner on a 955E 12A 7301   The one on my traxcavator has a chunk missing where the writing and part number is.  Cat has one listed for a 955C as part number 1M7250.  Is it the same?  Mine is 6 5/8 inches in diameter at the bottom and 3 inches tall on the outside.  The outside cone is 7 1/8 inches in diameter at the top.  The inside cone is 4 inches tall and 3 5/8 inches in diameter

my 10K D6c parts book shows a couple different numbers....early 1m7250....late 6h8021
- not sure those plastic bodies are the same as yours

-i'll take a look on mine and see if the numbers are there

this might not help, depending how many different sizes are out there for different models etc...

-mine, 6h8021 (12 inch diameter, approx 3 inch high outside band)

-maybe you can measure and post the dimensions of your pre-cleaner body?

Thanks kittylover for the informtion. Look in the original post. I edited it and added the measurements. What you have is about the same size as the one on my 9U D6. I guess we can rule out the 6H8021 as too big. The 955 is a D4 chassis. This one is 7 1/8 inches in diameter at the top outside, 6 5/8 inches at the bottom and 3 inches tall on the outside. The inner cone is 3 5/8 inches in diameter and 4 inches tall. Cat gave the measurements for 1M7250 which are 10 1/2 inches outside, 5 7/8 inches inside and 4 inches tall, which makes it too big also.

Go to a farm machinery dealer and enquire for Donaldson pre cleaner bowl. Readilly available in Australia and should be in other countries. My D6R has one factory origional and other manufacturers still use them.

I believe you need a 8H2023, it's 7.25" O.D. Intake diameter for the whole precleaner [pipe] is 3.03, Cat lists the bowl for $15.81

ROME K/G: You are absolutely correct. Cat on-line shows the diameter and height of 8H2023 as an exact match for $16.00. The Technical Library shows that same part number for the D4 40A1-UP. I will make that addition to my parts book. Part on order being delivered to the drop box. I can't drive 80 miles to pick it up for their freight charge. Thanks to everyone for the help. Brian Boaz
