Went to the Ritchie Bros Northeast Regional (North Franklin, CT auction to check out some kitties. Thought I would post some pics and findings in case there were any interested parties on here.

The D7E sat in a bridge builder's yard 5 minutes from my house for the last 20-30 years. Powershift. Pony is rusted toast and the main has oil but no signs of water. Not a runner. Bottom has plenty of life. This would make a good parts machine.

The 977L sat next to the D7. It's supposed to be a runner but the batteries didn't want to do their job for me today. It cranked and made smoke. Rest of the machine is in good shape. I think this would be a good buy.

The D4D's batteries had a similar story. It's in just okay shape. Low fluids, ok bottom. I'll see how bad others want it before I decide to throw a bid in. Can anyone tell me how much it would weigh?
Edit: according to the listing it doesn't steer to the right.

Not old but if I was looking for a D6R, I would buy this one.

Auction is this Tuesday 12/14. Hope this post was helpful if you were in the market.

Man that 977L looks nice. Triple grousers look to be in good shape and it also looks like there might be a little life left in the undercarriage (from here). Nice rock bucket got some miles left on that puppy.

Be interesting to see what it all goes for. Seems like auction stuff (even broken junk) is going for 2x or more as much as it was last year. The prices for private party sales have gone up too obviously, but it seems like not as much.

Problem is, scrap is through the roof so bottom dollar for junk equipment is up. $20 the D7 is a Honda in a month. Add that you can't find new equipment anywhere so there goes the price of everything else...did I mention RB is international? Bid against every Tom, Dick, and Harry with internet service.

The 977 was pretty nice. Hope that goes to a good home.

D7E was pulled from the auction. D4D went for $3000 and 977 for $15,500. I did not come home with anything.

D4D was great price, wonder how bad it was? Shipping to California would be 3X the tractor cost. bummed!

It was no cherry for sure but fixable. Fluids present but on the low side. Cylinders needed repacking. Bottom was half decent. Guess those are to be expected on a 55 year old machine. I would have thrown a bid in but I paid less for my 955. I set my bar low lol.
