9K Ironsides and Battle Scares but she still runs. It has some amazing welds I'll post some pics later.

My 5T has that same exact repair, and I have seen pictures of others that were done that way. Doesnt seem to affect the performance.

Yeah, I figured as long as it don't interfere with important parts and holds oil ... It'll do.. Good 50/50 rig. That's at 50' or 50MPH it's all good.
Lots of Good Ol' Caterpillar character and a testament to ingenuity and drive. Nothing is official yet ... I'm thinking I may need to change the name to Ol' IronSides

I have heard that there is a thin spot in that area and prone to freezing. All it would hold in is water and I don't think it would have any affect structurally. I crawled all over my 5t and didn't discover the repair for a good while. Just scars of life, we all have them.
