Problem replying to thread

Twice I've typed a reply to Busso20 in the stuck pinion thread, suggesting he flush his pilot motor cooling system while his pilot motor is off his Cat, and twice my reply has not uploaded, this has happened to me several times before.

I get a message like "No subject heading" yet when I try to put a heading in the box a red circle with a X through it shows up in the heading box.

Am I the only one having this problem with this new site, because it makes me very cross to spend 10 or 15 minutes writing a reply to help someone, only to hit send and my message disappear, not just once, but twice, it makes me very gun shy about trying to help people, life's too short.

Looks like an earlier bug - I saw it too. I will let IT know. Meantime, one thing I do because I don't trust any software, not just this software but any including the software I write : ), I select and copy all my reply so that if it happens, I have the reply to repaste.__PRESENT

Cheers,
Neil

Are we ever going to get a post preview again that shows all the images correctly?
Also have you tried quoting multiple posts? It just does not work.

We have lost a lot of functionality when the forum was changed. Personally I think it was a major backward step and we should be looking at dumping this forum and moving to another platform.

One last question Neil a lot of your posts have the ".__PRESENT" at the end. What does that mean?

PhilC said it!

Staying with something that does not work well just because you spent a lot of money on it, will not make it better.

Hi Mike,
maybe click on the "Go to editor" just below the Quick Reply box may help--I too had this issue back when you did in the past and now on Neil's advice I "Go to editor" box first off and have not encountered issues since.
Neil also advised me to copy my reply before I post it and hopefully our hour long search and typing to answer queries on here is not in vain--YES, I too have given up in disgust when this was an issue in the past.

Hi Mike, Yes I got the message and a 12 gauge is required regular, I did clean out the cooling side of the pony as I found sludge on the bell housing and from rear of block bleed tap, pretty bad, it ran out fairly quick so cleaned out ok, thank you

Hi Phil, I don't know if I've ever quoted multiple posts - probably not. At most, I would have only pulled some text from a single previous post. I don't usually use features like that; instead I'll just copy the text that I want, paste it in the editor with a set of quotation marks around it, then type in my text. The _PRESENT occurs after I edit my post. I've also passed that on to IT - I don't know what the root cause is but would put good money on the editor element adding that string because the developer forgot to remove some debugging code.

Cheers,
Neil
