Had our old tail seat D4 out this weekend pulling a old Cat thirty around trying to free up stuck tracks. The old tractor does smoke a little and the weather in northern KY was hot this weekend. It normally runs very well just driving it around the yard. All of the sudden it started missing. Does this sound like a injector problem?
Thanks Don

Could be, injection pump lifter may be sticking, valve may be sticking, injector nozzle/capsule stuck or plugged.

Or low fuel pressure. I broke the fuel filter tower drain pipe on my 5U a couple of weeks ago - fuel was pouring out the bottom, but the engine kept running although it had a miss. I was surprised at how the transfer pump keep enough fuel coming in to keep the injection pumps working enough to run the tractor for about another 3-4 minutes while I hightailed it over to the shed
Cheers,
Neil

Yes they come as a "service group" with the o-rings. A fuel pump shop can check them also.

Always start with the simple things, change the fuel filters. Get the condensation out of the tower and fuel pump with fresh filtered fuel.
