Hello everyone.......      I need some opinions from "experts" here. I am bidding on an "old" Caterpillar 950 wheel loader, to use around my farm. Overall, seems to be in pretty good condition, except needs work on brakes. I would like to use it to push my V-plow in winter on my 1 mile long farm road. Would the 950 have enough power to push deep snow?? It has a 4cyl diesel w/turbo. Also, any idea how much weight the 950 could lift?? Any ideas on good price for it?? Thanks, Roland

Hp is 130, operating weight 28,500 lbs. Recommended operating capacity is 9,000 lbs.
Should be enough for v-plow in snow if you can maintain traction.
Have no idea on price. Look up model on www.machinerytrader.com to get some idea.

a set of proper tire chains would help with traction.
i dont see why you couldnt use tractor tyres if you could get tyres or rims to fit or what about army lug pattern tyres

any way you have a loader you can use the bucket to clear the drive way simply fit a straight cutting edge tilt the bucket right forward and burnish the surface so your not digging but gliding. its done with road graders its the last step after grading the road you burn it off to smooth the surface.
