I'm getting real close to needing a pump so I decided to try and get mine in shape.
I've never used one, I always just had a grease gun with the correct fitting.
I managed to get it disassembled most oft the way but I'm stuck on the cable and the top of the pump . I need to replace the cable some how .
Any experts on this pump that can offer any ideas. Thanks for any info.

In order for the pump to actually pump track roller grease the lever needs to be held, that means the cable would be hooked in such a way to keep the grease from recycling. This was meant to quickly release pressure against the track roller seals.

In operation one would pump very easy feeling for resistance, then let go of the lever and continue placing the pump lever down. Then take a screwdriver or some pointed object and release pressure in the roller bearing cage by depressing the button in the grease zerk(?).

Thanks for the operating instructions, it will be very useful when I get the pump working.
Where I'm stuck right now is I can't get the broken cable out of the pump head. I'm not sure if the tube unscrew or maybe its just stuck after years of grease drying up in there.

If you need to make a cable - lawn mower cables are made with new cable and lead sinker weights shaped to the right size. Drill hole , thread cable threw splay out the end of cable (like umbrella) and clean and solder to back side of sinker.

Now if we can find a way to get this into the Technical Library and an easy way to locate it once it is there.
