I had a 621 scraper once start up backwards and instantly smoke rushed out of the aircleaner. I stopped the engine and removed the air cleaner cover and pulled out the filter element. As soon as it hit the ground and air got to it and it caught on fire. :eek:

Yea, had one of the D2's start backwards, tried to start before it was hot enough, made a hell of a mess from the oil out of the air cleaner ,

Not heavy equipment, but I saw a motorcycle (2 stroke) take off backwards when the starting gate dropped at a motocross race. Talk about wierd!
