Hello All, i have a question !,, Do any one know if the Best logging cruiser with the cruiser top , did they all have the heavier drawbar and bigger front idler springs??, or did Caterpillar put that on after 1925 ??. I am putting a cruiser hood on my transition Best 60 , it has the normal springs and drawbar... Thanks. Peter

Those are handsome beasts! So far as I know, to be a true logging cruiser, it has the heavier springs. I was never aware that the drawbars were heavier too. I've always wondered at the utility of the buggy top. Perhaps in western (open) forests, the buggy top would be OK, but in eastern forests, the lower branches would tear off the buggy top. Glad you have a logging cruiser.
BTW, there was a very large lumber company in the west (Red River Lumber Co.???) that used Sixties, and fabricated their own improvements to the basic 60 - and Cat adopted the improvements. Such as extra heavy pads.

Pete, near as I can tell from the literature I have it would have a tow hook, heavy radiator screen and the buggy top. Most of the heavy duty stuff like the rad, tank saddles, scavenge oil pump, springs etc came along in 1928.

Another very interrestring thing i found on this tractor !, on the brass info tag on flywheel guard-cover, it has {Cruiser} written ,in brackets at top corner , also it has on gear-shift pattern, H for high not like the normal 3 for third. As the cruiser do have a higher top speed. A lovely tag . Lucky it wasnt gone Hey !?. Have any seen that tag on other tractors?. I was wanting to ask Doc Sheppard in Fl if his Cruiser had that tag ?. Regards to you all . peter
