Twenty Two clutch component availability

I'm looking at replacing 1J3796W's clutch plate, thrust bearing, clutch brake (lining), and pilot bearing when I head to the old country next year. Would any owners happen to know if Cat has these available (I'm sure the bearings will be) or aftermarket? This is prompted by the old clutch plate getting stuck to the flywheel/pressure plate and so if a bronze plate was available, that would be even better. If this works out, I might get the crank and babbitting done at the same time since it badly needs it

If the steel plate is not severely heat cracked just have a machine shop resurface it. Check with Arts Parts on the friction plate 1-614-565-0506

Neil, I just this morning got a call from Caterpillar that the thrust bearing (part # 4B3665) and pilot bearing roller assembly (part # 1B3739) that I ordered were ready for pickup. As I remember, the approximate cost of the thrust bearing was $37. I didn't ask for the cost of the pilot bearing. The pilot bearing did not come with the outer race which wasn't available. I didn't need the other parts that you mentioned so I can't help you there.

Regards.
Pete

For my fifteen which is probably the same as 22 i used this bearing : Skf 6209 2Z closed greased filled.so always lubricated.
Is the lining complete gone of the brake disk? I did put 2 komp glue and new rivets in it as it was loose.
There is a good video on u tube of squatch 253 about a ten getting new clutch bearing.

Neil, I took my clutch disk and clutch brake to my local truck service center and they re-lined them for me, no problem. As for the bearings, I just looked for the numbers on the old bearings, and did a Google search. If I recall correctly I got them both on ebay. Good luck. Ray

Neil, I just measured the friction material on the 22 clutch I have, it is .165". The total of both frictions and metal dick is .485". It looks as though the fellow I bought the tractor from had just had it redone. The tractor was purchased in pieces and is all over the garage and shop. Hope that helps.
