You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Hi, Michael Crowe.
Are there adjustable tilt braces between the top side of the push arms and the top of the blade. If so, you would adjust the tilt by screwing one or both of them in and/or out.
Just my 0.02.
Michael,
The very few Toolbar blades that I have seen have always had the adjustable tilt braces that Deas makes reference to in his post. Just as he said, that is the right approach to tilting the blade.

Garwood/Allis Chalmers made a blade that had a pivot in the dozer arm just ahead of the trunnion. You were using a turnbuckle making one arm shorter than the other to tilt the blade.
I do want to say I have seen a IH dozer in a smaller size that had 2 trunnions on each side. But cannot recall if it was for a rear tool bar and at the same time a dozer on the front,or some other reason. But not at this time remembering just what was done.
But have never seen Cat use any of those methods to tilt a blade.

instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality
our 6u has to methods of adjusting blade angle.
you either undo the clamp bolts at the rack teeth to set vertical tilt or shorten/ lengthen the blade arms by pulling the pins from the arms that are near the lift triangle pivot and push the corner of the blade against a tree etc depending which side you wish to shorten.
NOTE if you undo the rack teeth make sure they mesh properly and the clamp bolt is done up tight or it will work loose and the bolt will come out. personal experience teaches quickly.
there are that many different blades its hard to tell with out looking at it which method can work. post a photo someone may know how.
