I have been using Cat DEAC on all my machines with distilled water. Cat recommends 50/50 mix not only for temperature but for cavitation and electrolysis and correct PH
I was told that the extended life antifreeze was not good for older machines

And add two quarts of Cat cooling system conditioner on fresh fill and one quart at every oil change or 250 hrs.
I'd definitely put in the anti-cavitation additive and use distilled water instead of municipal or well water.
I'd use the Cat gaskets and skip the gasket goo. Use new bolts, life is too short.
Definitely second everything that Don writes
My cat Dealer is saying they only have the extended life. Will this be ok with the additive?
I already have the cat gaskets and have pile of new bolts.
I think at the end of the day i would have been better off to just let the local radiator shop fix it. But its something i havent done before to add to the list.

Actually they are saying not to use the additive with the extended life.
If so should i just use a generic antifreeze?
Cat has an ASTM spec on the cut sheet for the DEAC so if its the same spec it shouldnt matter?
And add the additive to that and i would think you have the same thing,
Should go without saying but, use anti-seize on the bolts when you put back together. Lots of it.
I googled Cat DEAC and there are plenty of online suppliers
