I am not sure about 12A in particular but didn't many of the 955 machines used the same oil in the engine, hydraulics, transmission, steering clutches, and maybe finals. It was supposed to be the 'need to carry only one oil' solution. Someone should be along to either confirm or straighten me out.

No, Cat has 50W transmission/drive train oil and 50W final drive oil. I have used the trans/drive train for years with excellent wear reduction.

Thanks--I'll have to look into that--perhaps i should switch? I have power shift and wet steering clutches so i switched to the TO4 oils in them

The Cat 30W transmission/drive train oil works very good with steering clutch systems, allot smoother and no chatter with the clutches.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
