In the spirit of Labor Day, it seems I work twice as hard because everyone takes the day off. Had a 911 from a good friend/customer/fellow CAT fan, so I gladly moved this cherry D6D SA for him. I liked it so much I offered to drive it too! Going to pin it up to an Allis Chalmers 600 chisel, to follow the wanna be big CAT. It’s good to be alive!

Yes it is! Since Pops passed I’ve cleaned up my diet and lost about 20 lbs. Still eating a lot but eating what our ancestors ate. Grass feed meats, wild fish, eggs, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. All high protein quality foods while trying to avoid processed foods. Having potatoes as a treat and avoiding breads. Breads turn to sugar. Once the weight comes off with proper nutrition there’s no need for a lot of the common meds we take that contribute to cancer.

I stop at Red Robin and order bacon alvacado cheeseburger with vegetables instead of fries. Set the bun aside and chow down : )

PS. Your truck looks good! Since you only have one drive axle is that a regular axle or heavy duty since the engine torque isn’t divided between two drives? Are heavy ring and pinions needed? I’m thinking of taking out my front driver and putting a tag axle in but Pittsburgh Power tuned my 485HP Cummins up. It made 385HP to the rear wheels when I arrived and 756HP when all done. Need a bigger radiator now! LoL I rarely put my foot in it though.

Oil Slick did you bump your head or are you taking advantage of the California legal Cannubus. Why would you take out dual drive and add tag axle. You are not saving that much weight.

Thanks for the compliments, I wish the D6D was mine!
Slick: I had to fight the folks at the factory; axle mfg. originally approved the specs with 23 or 26k single drive, then got gun shy when they found out I was getting a “Campaign” motor with slightly higher than the stock 2050#torque rating. Made me go to to some higher capacity drive axle. Considerably heavier. This truck is a tank compared to my others that only run 550 ISX Cummins.
You’re going thru a lot of effort to save 750# by the way; don’t think like some of your local gypo truckers by moving the rear axle to the front. Too lightweight, you’ll burn it up on flat ground. Running the hills conservatively, we only get 80,000 miles from a set of drives. On my CAT, only 45,000. The extra money made only helps with the tire bill....but worth the dirty looks when we pass the flatlanders.
Gary: yours is identical. I forgot to write the serial #. That’s a nice tractor you have.

D4e. Cannibus is the plan when I retire 👍

We haul a lot of light loads for the military. Crazy how light the military loads us but I sure like it. They had (3) small 2,500 generators to move across the country. They called for 2 trucks. Since I got there first they put 2 on me. Could have easily hauled 5 or 6 generators. 5,000 lbs that’s it! Haulin A$$!!

Some guys lift there front axle and drive off the rear driver. Moving rear axle to front can get you stuck in a gutter. I’ve gotten stuck 2x so far. Once on ice and wet grass. Both times the right side duals were spinning. Left side tires were on pavement. Be nice if at least one axle had a locker.

I see what your saying about burning up tires with only one driver.

Hey Gary....had to do another 911 move today; serial is 5X1072. I didn’t get to make any passes across the field. Operator told me it ran flawlessly with the chisel sunk in 28” with a heavy roller. I did notice the remnants of a light on the left side of the dash. “Increased horsepower” was the caption, so I’m guessing it’s a VHP machine.

Dang Gee, with all of these "911" hauls you're doing, don't you think it's time to paint your rig RED?

I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
