Any updates on the Norscot Twenty model?

This was listed as a second quarter release in the catalogue, but I am interested in seeing pictures of the real model. Every promo shot I've seen of this crawler on the web is of the real machine, which the sites fail to mention.

Also, I'm interested in opinions of the Twenty Two model. I collect mainly SpecCast, so know what to expect (generally), but don't have any Norscot yet.

As alays, thanks in advance!

The Spec Cast and First Gear models are really well done.
However the Norscot items have a few issues.
They are geared more for the mass market rather than collectors.
Quality of detailing and finish are inferior.
There are some accuracy problems as well.

I would have preferred to see Spec Cast do the recently issued 657G rather than Norscot - it would have been so much better

The details on the Norscot are not the best in some toys. Spcecast and 1st Gear do a really fine job but also cost more. So in essence you pay for what you get.

That depends. I can't say for the First Gear, but the Norscot Twenty Two is about the same list price as other SpecCast crawlers, but the SpecCasts can be found quite a bit cheaper. I'm only talking the 1/16 scale models. I don't know about accuracy, but the photos of the Norscot model look okay. The ACMOC Cats are going for pretty high prices now, and while the detail is good, it still isn't quite up to par with more current SpecCast models.

I just really want to see how good a job Norscot did on the Twenty, since I found a real one locally (narrow yellow) that I need to check out a little closer.

I am now seeing the Twenty being offered on eBay for immediate delivery, so I'm hoping that pictures of the real model will be available shortly. Anyone have any leads on this yet?

Based on information I received from Norscot yesterday, they are estimating shipment of the first production lot of Twenty models from Hong Kong on 20 June. I estimate, allowing 10 days for transit time and shipment to customers, we will probably start to see them during the first two weeks of July.

Here is a picture of the first production model that was reviewed by Dave Tallon of the model committee.

Thanks Lee. Am I correct in assuming the side panels are removeable, or is there no engine in this model? (I made the assumption there was an engine lurking behind the side panels on an IH model only to discover there wasn't anything there...)

I'm looking forward to seeing more images as they become available.

Jeff,

The side panels are hinged at the top edge and swing up to show the engine detail.

Here is one more shot of the other side of the model.
