After 6 years, Ed is leaving the ACMOC board of directors at the close of tomorrow. Descendant of a family that moved to California in search of gold in 1849, he still resides in that area, Placerville, California. Thanks for the years of wise counsel to the club, and I hope to see you again at the next ACMOC Caterpillar tractor show. Please see this representative photo of Ed with son, grandson, and I think the woman is his son's wife. (Sorry if I have confused relations, Ed.) Congrats on 6 years of service!

Ed is a great guy. I am sorry that I did not get to know him better. Nice of you to volunteer your last 6 years to the job. Thanks!

Ed---
I don't know you personally----but our ancestors may have by chance known each other. My great grandfather went out to the gold rush from Vermont----in reading their diaries, looks like they were somewhere close around what is now the Marmon Dam area, just East of Folsum Prison. Went back home and got married----started back out to California overland, but stopped off and settled in Nebraska in 1857. Later, my grandfather purchased land here in Mississippi in 1902.
The nation was on the move even way back then. No Caterpillars in the gold fields back then----just some tough Cats with picks and shovels.
Thanks for the service. Hope to meet you some day. Good luck.

Ed,
I wish to add my thanks to you for the 6-year term or yours.
I was able to meet you the year at Tulare where I was able to drive your D7 in the parade (George posted photos of me trying to start the pony). It was being stubborn and you came to the rescue. It turned out that there was some rust in the gas line to the pony. Once you got that all cleared up it fire off with ease. I was privileged to ride with George that Saturday and then on Sunday you allowed me to drive the D7 in the parade.
My grand daughter (Sharia) rode with me.
Thanks again for your 6 years and for giving me the privilege of driving your D7 in that parade. It brought back many good memories of when I drove the two D7’s we had on my family ranch when I was in my late teens.
