I don't know you personally----but our ancestors may have by chance known each other. My great grandfather went out to the gold rush from Vermont----in reading their diaries, looks like they were somewhere close around what is now the Marmon Dam area, just East of Folsum Prison. Went back home and got married----started back out to California overland, but stopped off and settled in Nebraska in 1857. Later, my grandfather purchased land here in Mississippi in 1902.
The nation was on the move even way back then. No Caterpillars in the gold fields back then----just some tough Cats with picks and shovels.😉
