piece of junk D2-early stages of restoration

My piece of junk D2 in the early stages of restoration.

(notice the one steering lever!! – trouble, trouble, trouble!!!!)

When I go to different tractor shows I often have strangers come up to me – introduce themselves – and than get into discussions about the ACMOC BB and the postings & pictures thereof.

One particular post / picture that I posted about three years ago was one of my mechanic, “Mrs. G” and “myself” standing together beside the D2.

This picture seemed to give folks a chuckle, so, I’m going to post it again since people often mention it.

Nice photo Bill.

As they say, every journey starts with the first step. Your little D2 has turned out very nicely, and the joy you and yours get out of it is always evident.

But, i do have to ask. Is that the first time you used that particular smock? :)
That white is almost blinding. lol

Always enjoy reading about you and your family, Reggie and Cat included. ;)
Keep it coming.

Bill, I was not aware you had to restore your tractor. You did a nice job. Thanks for reposting the old photo. GWH

Bill, you look just like the Cat technicians in the old photos in the manuals! :D I always wondered why they wore those white smocks!!

yes bill i remember getting my first computer back in 2003 and going on the old acmoc website and seeing you working on the d2. we were on a dial up link at the time and we used to have to wait for the pictures of the d2 to load up. you had it on front of the little garage out back and working away. i remember you had this cat stripped right apart with a very limited tools and equipment.
it has come a long way plus you have enjoyed the cat long after the restoration is completed with numerous up grades too. keep them pictures coming and book the southern holiday trip to the topless beach so we can see some more southern cat equipment, LOL
