Hey guys, I know its been awhile since my last postings of this adventure but here is an update of my marathon project. For those who don't remember me a couple of years ago I bought a 2U #15564 and started tinkering. I ended up doing an in-frame tear down. I had to replace 2 valves and 1 piston & liner due to water damage, everything else in the main engine looked like new so I dressed up the rest of the valves and buttoned her up. I had to completely overhaul the pony, also due to water damage. She ran clean and smooth so I moved on to the bigger (heavier) tasks. In the meantime I found a 13A #137 with a like new set of rails and bottom rollers. I hauled her home and stripped her bare. Im going to make one out of the 2 machines. Im going to stick with the 13A wet clutch, heavier frame rails, and other various nick nacks. I can't use the 13A main case due to a crack where the friction clutch release fork attaches to the bottom of the case. Ive got enough parts between the 2 units to make one excellent machine. I'm pulling the transmissions apart now. Thats about it.

That's pretty good progress for "big iron"
I think I sorta remember that one.....wasn't there a lot of discussion about identifying some of the items on the 13A???......and quite a production to get it out of some farmers yard???
Not much of a memory jogger but that might be it.

You're right on the money O.M. We came to the conclusion that it was a late 2U with some later parts mixed in. Heres some of the pics from a couple years ago

Makes me wonder if that's one of the "high output" or "McCoy specials" with that "pusher" designation plate on it. Never seen one like that before. Looks like an interesting project. Were you guys pulling it off that pedestal it was on, or just getting it into position to load, as I suspect?
Good luck with it!

Alan, it looks to me it has twin exhaust pipes and the ones I saw years ago had twin pipes on them so it could be that high output tractor..

You will be very glad that you have the oil clutch. It will be worth the effort. I have two 2U's w/o and that is the major weakness of the machines. I have looked some to find the conversion package with out success. Let us know how the 13A fits in. Great job so far. Going to have it at Woodland this Summer?

Is that two sets of trunions I see on the side of the twin stack 2U?
That Grey frightliner looks a lot like the one Manuel Brazil uses to haul his hay squeeze on? I believe he is from the Modesto area.

Yes, I had to pull it up on the loading dock to get it onto the trailer. & I don't know what the "PUSHER" stands for, I got that 13A from a large farm on the West side of the Central Valley near Patterson Ca. Don't know why they had 2 sets of trunions on the swing frame. A good friend of mine is Manuel Brazil's son in law, he helped me out in hauling the 2U home.
