Regarding my 1952 D2 5U...
Does anyone know where to get those tractor light - lens?
Mine says “Guide Tractor Lamp” on it and it is 6 5/8” diameter.
I broke one by turning the screws in too far for the Grill guard.
Kindly let me know.

Bill,
I'm looking for the same thing. I have several lights that need the lense and a couple that need the wire mesh grid. Somebody said Willie might have some. Lets wait and see if he sees this post.Happy New Year

Hey Bill, I have a lens you can have if you want, it says "Guide Tractor Lamp" on it, also look near the top and mine has a number, 921635. only cost you 3 hot dogs and a riding tour of the estate on the D2 if I ever get in your area in the summer. Hope Reggie doesn't mind me riding in his place on the fender. Don't mind getting rid of it, If I have no lights, I can't work at night.
George
PS. Sorry guys, it's the only one I have

trucker1, I think your offer to Bill was generous. This is the kind of response that it is so pleasurable to read on this bb.
BTW, I tried to find out who you were by going into the members list, but, unfortunately, I could make no headway - no info was available. But at least I know we share the first name.

Dear Trucker1,
That is a very generous offer!
Yes, our family would surely host you & yours for a Caterpillar ride & campfire etc.
AND, three hot dogs (but NOT Reggie).
If you would like I’ll mail you a pre-paid-postage “box” that you can drop it in and ship it to me. (this works well)
I wish I could offer some monetary compensation (please?).
Let me know your address if you want.
Just e-mail me @:

George, I can't list my info in the members section, the witness protection program told me if I blow my cover again, the next stop is a move to some place called "Lynn Lake"? supposed to some place in upper Canada?? don't know if I want to learn to say "Eh" all the time.
Actually I don't think I ever listed anything when I registered on this board from the old one. I have been lurking around here about 5 years or so. Never became a member because the closest thing I have to a Cat is the 3406B in my freightliner and an old denim Cat hat I got from the dealer about 15 years ago. Don't say too much either because I know that there are alot of people on here with a ton more knowledge than I have. I own dozers, but not cats yet. Been around them for 40 or so years. Move lots of cat equipment around, both old and new. When I started in construction, everything we had started with a rope. Missed out on a couple of D46U's a couple years back, one complete, one parts. I called the guy, he never called back. Then the fellow that bought them hired me to haul them about 15 miles to his property. He was going to get them going, but I know deep down in my soul he never will. Just waiting to swoop in at the right moment and take them off his hands.
George
