I got this far, then the Ford Model A took over my attention, then Haying season, then ?, well the list goes on! I was recently dis-employed which brings me LOTS of extra time! I plowed through the Honey-Do list, admittedly its not done! Searching for work is dragging on, Wonderful Economy!
SO I am at what point?
I used oven cleaner on the aluminum stuck to the sleeve, straight honed slightly, then ball honed a decent cross hatch. Honed only enough to break the glaze. Put the new rings on the replacement piston and assembled with replacement connecting rod. Spent a LOT of time trying to remember how to get the piston and rod back in from the bottom! Tried everything I could think of, but gave up do to cleanliness issues. Piston was picking up everything like a magnet. Old one came out the bottom I think due to part of the top missing.
Gave up and built a sleeve puller. While studying the other three pistons, I kept thinking how much cleaner number 4 is compared to 1 and 2. Got to be still plugged up in the cooling department???? Pulled the number 3 sleeve and got wet feet as the bottom of the block still has water in it!!!
RUST! 1/3 of the way up the sleeve!!!
If you were to look at the cooling passages or lack there of, you would understand as to why I kept wondering why the pony ran so hot and why the number 4 piston was so clean!
I radiator "Flush"ed this twice when I first got it running.
I don't believe any amount of acid flushing would cure this problem unless you could get alot of pressure/volume behind it to push the crud around!
Bottom Line is...
I need O-rings and that metal seal for the top of the liner.
Anybody got a valid part number or alternate source?
Thanks!

Hi,
The reason there's a ratchet crank on the diesel tractors is so that you can turn them over to adjust the tappets. There is a proper handle for the specific purpose of turning over the engine.
Apologies, I just realised there were 2 more pages of posts since the one I replied to.

I only have an R2 book but I believe the seals are the same and the seals are 8-of 7B2125 and 4 of the metal gaskets for the top of liner and are 2A5633.

Monday, I'll call around to see if I can find them!
One thing I lost was MY Word version of the Sticky Note with all the Suppliers names and Numbers on it. I never printed it! I left it on my Company computer and seen as I am no longer employed!

I called the local Distributor today and after persuing the guy to look harder, he actually called CAT and came back with availability for the o-rings and the copper ring.
Should be here tomorrow!
Thanks to all of you for your help on this!
Also Thanks AL for sending me a new start on my parts distributor list!
