Had some time over the last couple of weeks to help a friend (Lauren) get this old girl up and running. Last week we primed the fuel system. We found that the pony started right off! To avoid damage though, we opted to pull start the tractor. Just a short distance and the old girl fired right up!
Running!

And driving
He has most of the parts to build a canopy, parts to build fenders and a fuel tank (it'll need cleaned and sealed). We installed the new seat base and cushions last fall before it got too cold to be out working on the old girl in the metal barn.
Lauren rebuilt the throttle control as it had worn out from use, though I'd imagine that given the nature of these tractors and their having out lived their expected life to be repowered with the diesels, replacing a few parts might be expected!
Enjoy!

Good for you guys!! The best of both worlds, classic lines of a Sixty with the terrific sound of a D7700.
Can't wait to see the finished product.

This tractor will probably be moving on to another "keeper." I wish we had time to complete it, but we have so many other projects needing attention that giving this particular project the needed attention would be a long time coming. Previously, I built the canopy and seat for his gas powered Sixty and brought it up to running condition. We actually built three seat bases at the same time, one for each tractor and a "spare". The Gas Sixty:

Just love that D7700 just clicking over there. No better sound in the world!
I really like the pony tank on the frame rail. That is some nice attention to detail to rig up a miniature version of the main tank, round, right proportions, everything. That way the fuel and the tractor don't get a shock from having the fuel coming from the wrong tank.
Nice work, keep posting the photos, videos and stories for us.
Pete.
