You will need a code 62 fitting not code 61
And you will have to change the half shells that clamp it down

[quote="wlf89"]i blew a hose on the 941 yesterday, its one that feeds the dump cylinder that is hidden beside the dash area and below the lift cylinder part number 7k1855 straight on one end and 60 degree on other. i have been ordering from offroad equipment but they dont have the parts to make that hose, the cat dealer said $176 and that just sounds high for a 2ft hose. i can find some hose and fittings that look the same but spec wise im not sure, do any of yall order your own fittings and make the hoses yourself? i can get the hose pressed locally if i had the parts and save alot of money.
im thinking something like this might be same?

Yeah, those hose ends are reusable if they're genuine Cat. That is what costs so much for a hose assembly.
the nearest cat dealer is hour away and they are just a small parts place that doesnt even make the house, the bigger place 2.5hrs away does and sends it up to them so reusuing my fittings wont work. should anywhere that makes hoses be able to reuse them or just the cat dealer?
there is no need to discard the ends if they are cat. if they are the split shell clamp type then all you need to do is remove the clamps and then with a hacksaw very carefully cut at a diagonal across the hose that is on the nipple. be careful not to cut all the way through the hose just through the steel ply leaving the base layer. then grab the hose and bend on a 90 degree angle and the old hose will rip at the cut and come right off. make sure you replace with the same spec hose or you will fight the ends getting them back on.
941 tracked loaders use 2 piece re-usable hose fittings, the ends are actually Komatsu ends supplied to CAT just to put the detail out there? the SAE ends are now getting hard to find in the press fit style, the cylinder part of the fitting can still be found at the CAT Shop, its best to cut this through to save the hose tail fittings, as the press will often damage this item.

I think only the CAT dealer can reuse their press-on sleeve fittings. Most other shops have a single-use crimp sleeve type system. Last time I checked it was about the same to get the hoses made locally as to have the CAT shop 2.5 hrs away fix them with the reusable ends. So I have a small collection of hose ends on the shelf that was accumulated over the years.
A good hydraulic shop can skive the hose like Cat does and reuse the fittings as well. I think it's slowly going away though, since Chinese one time crap fittings can be bought cheaper than the investment in tooling and training for reusable ones.
There are some fittings that are only supported by Caterpillar anymore, as they were just a little different than off the shelf Parker or other fittings.
