i finally got around to looking at the D4 i posted about a few weeks ago. the owner said it had only aprox 400 hours on it. after i looked at it i decided the previous owner must have put about 10400 hours on his D4 then replaced the pins and bushings and the sprockets along with some other stuff maybe including and engine overhaul. the blade lift needs some bushings to tighten it up and some packing in the cylinders and a few other things. get ready i am sure i will have a bunch of questions for the board.
Thanks for looking:israel:

I am going to try to keep this thread going with ongoing discussion as i find more questions so in the future maybe others can find answers to their questions in a single thread.

That's a nice looking tractor. It looks like it's ready to go to work.

I like it, but looks like like the sprockets were replaced with used ones.

I am just guessing but i think the sprockets, pins and bushings have about 400 hours on them since rebuild. i am pretty sure the owner didn't replace any rollers either but not sure. the rollers are all grease able type. where can i get the end for my grease gun so i can service them? what type of grease should i use?

Thanks Mike!! I have an Alamite grease pump but we used it to fill guns with NO 2. my thought was to get the correct fitting and use corn head grease from Deere because i can get it in tubes.

be careful using a cartridge gun as they can develop too much pressure and blow the seals out
I believe corn-head grease is close to 00 grade grease that is recommended
