If you want just a working gauge got to cat and get the the one with the spacer around it if you want orig. bevel glass the you need a good core either you have one that can be rebuilt of buy one from somebody or EBay and have it rebuilt. You can contact Dozerman51 right here and get info on the place and be sure you get it from him not the guy who will jack you around

Spence, the part number in the book shows a 4F8238 but the # could have changed since this book was printed as Cat is always changing part numbers when an improvement or update is made with parts but Cat will take this old number and change it over to the current new part number. As Willie said the new Cat gauge will be supplied with an adapter ring so its adaptable to the hole in the dash as the outside (ring) face is smaller in diameter. This adapter has been used for years with this smaller later style gauge than what the original was.

Spencer I have a friend that lives in Martinsville and he did work for a Bob Cat dealer in the area out there but when he lived here he worked for the Cat dealer here that I retired from as a truck engine mechanic in their truck engine dept.He did work for the Cat dealer there in Indianapolis for a while but don,t know why he changed jobs unless the traveling was too far each day.
