Definitely a 20Axxxx 977, "D" model from 1955-58, "E" model from 1958-60 with change to D7 undercarriage at s/n 20A2509-up. For comparison here is a #6 Shovel.

It looks like it's missing it's hood and grill guard. Does anybody in BC have some parts for it?

I have another question for all of you guys. Did all of the 977 direct drives have oil bath clutches? The other question: how much does it weigh? Thanks guys. Robyn

Weight for the early 977D with D6 undercarriage is 32,000 lbs for the E with D7 undercarriage it is 35,000 lbs. The clutches would be dry. The wet clutch came with the power-shift transmission.

As far as I know, they were all wet flywheel clutch, the 955 of the same era certainly was, they learned their lesson from the dry clutch in the HT4.
