Hello everyone , I am from SE MN and I just bought back both of my dads D6 9U 24902 and D6 9U17950.
Was able to get both of them out of the sheds they have been sitting in , pull started them and drove them to my semi .
I am going to restore these units and have new service manuals coming from our Cat dealer . My dad always told me they were1956 models but have not had any luck finding a sn book or list online . Our dad passed away 6 years ago and I have been trying to get these dozer for along time and Monday was my lucky day !!
Thankyou , Danny Anderson , Dirt Boyz LLC Pine Island MN

According to the Serial Number Reference Manual, D6 9U17950 would be a 1954, and D6 9U24902 a 1957.
I hope this helps,
John

Hi Danny and welcome to ACMOC. Good catch. We have a quite active ACMOC chapter in Minnesota. Our Christmas dinner/club meeting is being held on January 7 at the Southeast side of Saint Paul if you would like to join us. Our Chapter just finished an Orchard RD4 project. I also have a 1956 9U D6 that I can get you needed copies out of my books until you can score some. They come up now and then.

Rick, I think Danny is well balanced. Red ovals, red tractors and yellow tractors. No dark side unless he starts going green.

Be VERY careful if he goes green. Then we'd HAVE to say, "Oh DEERE..."
