Made some progress today. Had to use the connecting rods from the stuck engine the other set I have doesn't fit the crank on this thirty. The two that were rusted stuck had to be pressed out then just had to remove wrist pins on both sets and change them over to the ones that fit the crank. Spent a lot of time getting the shims just right. Here's a few pictures Jon-Mark![]()
question: did you reuse a head gasket or is it new? it does not look like olsens unless they are now made from copper.

Hi, Skinner.
The cans of worms that we sometimes open when we get into projects. It's good to see that you are making progress though. I'd bet that you are looking forward to hearing it start to rumble and rattle the barn soon.
Just my 0.02.
Interesting thread!
Glad you guys got some rain! Want some cold to go with it?

Surprised to hear that a Cat with a built-in roof over it got so wet inside!
Very cool and fun looking project. Great to hear you have been able to round up the key parts.
