We have rebuilt the whole MANIFOLD AIR HEATER but can not find in any book what " fuel " we have to use.
( When it is desirable to warm the diesel engine quickly in cold weather, the manifold air heater can be used to
throw a flame into the intake manifold )![]()
At a ancient car show we find this new Euro headlight and headlight bezel set.![]()
VERY NICE QuAD.😄
Looks good😄 😄
The manifold heater uses diesel fuel (kerosene can be added if really cold)
There were two types of ignition....a 6 volt current through a hydraulic switch which closes a circuit to supply a coil and vibrator assembly in the heater housing to provide a stream of sparks.
or
If no battery is used the heater ignition sparks are furnished through the starting engine magneto which has two extra terminals tied together going to the heater housing.
Coverage of this topic is best found in the Industrial Engine application O & M manuals.
Thanks for you help.
It works great.
We take it out to make a photo.
