Hi All,
And a very Merry Christmas to you.
I was wondering if anyone has any what I call "Disaster photos" to share
ie; Stuck in, rollovers, on fire etc etc
I will try to attach a couple from my own private collection for you.
Best wishes
From

Hi Richard,
It certainly is a small world isn't it!!
I was doing a bit for Luke back in the summer when he was busy down on the new A30 at Gossmoor. But I found the firm to be rather "clickey" if you know what I mean, and when another job came along I left.
I am a self employed operator and former plant business owner based in Okehampton, I am currently working for London based plant company BCL on the redevelopment of Millbay area in Plymouth.
By the way yes Luke still has a fair collection of County Tractors...Just some of his big boys toys which he has paid for with all the money he made out of the Foot & Mouth disaster!!
Regards
Nick:)

<span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS">Nick,
Here's a couple of 'OOOPS' pics from 1994. As you can see the truck carrying gas bottles got too close to the wall on the bridge, it collapsed and then the lorry went over the side in to the river. It was lucky the tide was out because when its in it can be as high as the arches.
I was working in the dealership just over the road from this and heard the bang as the truck hit the deck.

Hey Richard,
I know why that truck went off the bridge.
Are you ready for this?
He was driving on the wrong side of the road.
(Sorry, I just had to poke fun at the driving on the other side of the road. Hope you don't mind.)

Here is a different type of disaster going on right now in Western Kansas USA!!
Severe ice storm with downed powerlines, flattened trees and cold weather.
So much for global warming!!

Probably this happened 40 or 45 yrs. ago as this coal stripping Co. had bought a fleet of new Cat DW21s with Athey rear dump wagons on them & one day this operator was dumping over burden down in the hole where the coal was taken out & he got too close to the hole & the tractor & wagon went backwards down the hole maybe a couple hundred feet but the operator jumped just as it went over the bank. They recovered it from the hole but it was used only for parts as it was torn up pretty good.

Walt.....its part of our Operator Awareness training for when the French boys pull out of the tunnel.....but seriously don't want to crow too loud or Tony Blur will have us Eurofying the steering wheels as well
Flippin' cold over in Kansas, Jim. First sniff of cold weather here and everyone is panic buying bread and complaining about how badly prepared everyone is.....don't send it our way we'll keep our fog.

Hey Rich,
Where is that bridge? Did the driver get out OK?
Regarding the machines parked up in Plymouth...We can sleep well at nights as our fantastic Polish security guards are keeping an eye on them.....when they are not asleep...ooh bit of sarcasm there!!
By the way i'm operating a little Komatsu PC138US down there...Handy little tool.
Regards
Nick
