Hey Gang,

Just got back from a 3 day road trip covering about 1600 miles. Loaded up the B Model Mack and hauled her to Phoenix, Arizona. I dropped her off at Interstate Truck Bodies. They build my 5 cyd trucks and water trucks.
They have been given orders to;
Remove old tank to frame.
Remove seat from cab.
Remove all mirrors and lights.
Sand blast and do body work as necessary.
Paint interior same color, a light tan.
Install a new tank.
Epoxy paint inside of tank.
Paint truck and tank black.
Order larger 11r 22.5 wheels and powder coat them yellow.
Install all new 16 ply tires.
Install glass with all new tracks and rubbers.
Install new seats, headliner, and floor mats.
Install new lights, new stainless steel mirrors.
Install new muffler and stack.
Install new decals and clear coat over them.
Install new tool box.

I need to get this truck ready for Santa Margarita show. Don't want Deas to pick one for having a leaky Mack anymore...
Hahaha

Hey Glen,

Interstate Truck Bodies is just a little over 7 miles from my house. Gosh, you could have stopped by and said hello. Maybe, just maybe, when you come pick up the completed rebuilt truck you could stop by.

I would consider it a great honor. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: 👍

Hi, Glen.
Thank you. That will make the whole show a fair bit safer being able to leave the old girl full - or at least part-filled - with water in case of a fire. The sprays. etc., did a GREAT job just as they were at this year's show and the amount of water she puts out sure did make it easy to get a surface on the roads the keep the dust down. In spite of her age, she is still a good truck to drive. especially on that work.

Thank you making her available for the show AND for all the other units you made available too. The Monday morning effort with the 5 dozers, the 660, the 36A and can and the grader only showed once again what these older machines can do, especially in 'knowing' hands. It's just a pity that we didn't have somebody there to video the fun.

I look forward to making friends with her again next year.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
