One setting in woods near here. I hear owner has a bid from the scrap man on it. Tracks are BBAADD and has not run for yrs, but all there. Would it have any value to anyone to save it from grinding up? Has a bulky cable bucket loader afair up front. LB

D4 7U is usually found with a hydraulic lift blade instead of a cable lift blade. Even with bad tracks, a complete D4 7U is very valuable to any business that is into selling used Cat parts. A pony motor, radiator, winch, on and on will bring much more than the scrap man could ever hope to pay for the whole Cat. Unfortunately, the cost of replacing the undercarriage is usually beyond the cost of a good running D4 7U sales price. That is the main reason why my D4 7U never sees high gear at much over an idle. I want my tracks to last as long as they can.

A cable trackson loader on a D4 was common before the Ht4. Is it valuable? Do you want to dig a basement of build a highway? If it was me, I would buy it. I am not however building a highway
