I would like to send an invite all yellow fever patients to come out to the Macoupin Co. Historical Societies Fall Festival set for September 17 and 18th at Carlinville, Il. I will have my 22 and terrace wheeled High way Patrol #4 out there along with the Societies D4 and RD8. The Macoupin Co. Antique Agricultural Association which does the farm demonstrations at this show will be featuring John Deere so bring along your Deere equipment. This show is free parking and free admissions to all. There will be over 200 craft and knick knack booths for the ladies to brooze through and well as a working blacksmith shop, printing office, country store, service station, and mew fire house. Farm demonstration include wheat threshing, corn harvesting, sorghum cooking, plowing, straw bailing, corn husker shredding, and maybe some road grading if I can find room. Also several museums with local history and items with years gone by. Plus lots of good food service by the association and Historical Society. Need more information feel free to ask.
Day one done, no rain today but had 2.5" yesterday. Still able to cook.sorghum molasses, threshing and bailing, as well as playing in the corn. I had my 22 and Hi-way patrol out with the chapter 20 banner. I was the only Caterpillar in the tractor lineup, but a D4, D2, and RD8 were also on the grounds. Lots of green JD with a hi crop g, orchard 60, 6020, 7020, and many other odd balls. With the wet grounds.i kept the 22 and grader out of the parade, but am planning on putting it in tomorrow ( was taking a batch of sorghum molasses off she it started). If any one stops by tomorrow look me up in my two ton t-shirt and Caterpillar 60 hat.
