I'm driving down interstate 35 south with the cruise set at 78. I see this Pete closing in and I was very surprised to not see low boy ramps or a roller on the back. Even if he's using a hydraulic neck wet kit low boy I would think this high dollar truck would have ramps on it. Why would a heavy haul truck be built this way and what would he be pulling?

Mike even though it has heavy specs, it could be pulling two forty foot coal trailers

Hey D4e,

Could also be used on a hydraulic fold down neck trailer.

Hard to say. Gravel, cattle, you name it. Around here we are not allowed that little tag axle, trucks mostly tri-drive.

Probably an oversize load hauler. Looks like a compressor mover.

In Waco Tx now and I'm noticing non of the heavy haul trucks have low boy ramps on them. Here is a Cat Holt truck with no ramps and a hyd. trailer. Guess Cozad and Murray are not popular in the mid-southern states.

Hi, Oil Slick.
Cozad or Murray not popular in the mid-Southern states????????????????? I reckon you'd have a REAL hard time trying to sell them DowNunder too. They are a LOTTT of work for the same result that we get with loading up ramps over the rear.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

No we don't have the same bridge rules as Cali so we don't need 8 tires per axle to haul a D10T. Take the blade off and go. Holt has a blanket overwidth, overweight DOT permit, like a lot of the bigger contractors. D11's require the big trailers.

Holt is a Load King trailer dealer BTW.

OiH, whenever work is slow I like to hit the road. No KW or Power Wagon this time. We took her new VW Passat on a 5,400 mile walk about. Fancy little car with a bunch of buttons to mess with. The car stops automatically if your messing with the buttons and traffic stops :-0. Then takes off up to full speed by itself. Makes it much safer to text and drive 😊

We went and saw old faithful after visiting my mom in Seeley Lake, Mt. Then taking our time heading down to visit Bob Krocker in around Rock, TX.

Hey OIH,

If he was visiting Deas, he would be upside down. Since he is sideways, he must be close to the equator...
