Dose anyone happen to know the speed of the drive shaft coming out of the transmission on a 9U D6? I realize it technically is not a PTO,but used to run hydraulics or CCU.
Been playing with different components to make a hydraulics system to run farm implements. Have a Bee-Gee pump that is very warn out and valves leak bad.
Some latter all in one tank valve systems were made by Live Power,but when on the back of the old Cats like a 9u was it live or run off the transmission like a Bee-Gee? Google did not come up with anything on the Live Power,so assume they are long out of business.
Leaning to a front pump and tank on the fender as most components are hiding around here already.Higher pressure and lower volume will serve farm equipment I have been using.

pretty sure the attachment drive shaft runs at engine RPM, I have a beegee setup on a 5r d6 and it only runs the pump when the clutch is engaged, it works if the tranny is in neutral.

HCL in Dos Palos, Ca. makes the Live-Power units. Driving a hydralic pump off the front of the engine gives you live hydralics all the time. For disking or other types of operations that don't require large volumes of oil a rather small pump is all you need. I have a front drive after-market pump on our D7-3T and it works great.

My 9u had a bege pump as well with the same problem. I unbolted the pump/tank assembly and left the adapter on the back of the cat. My local hydraulic shop was able to put a pump together for me that had a round bolt hole pattern and splined shaft to match the bege pump. I did have to shorten the pto adapter shaft shaft in the cat about half and inch. It pulls straight out the back of the cat. I am certain it runs at engine speed. The pump I put on was 25 gpm. I mounted a control valve near the bottom right corner of the fuel tank and reused the bege controls with some modifications. Hydraulic tank ended up on the back right corner of the fender. It all turned out real slick. I am sure I can dig up for on what make I used I will have that information tucked away if you would like it. If I get a chance today I can take a couple of pictures to post.

I don't reckon the PTO shaft runs at engine speed, the input gear is usually much smaller than the one it drives, if no-one can come up with the correct spec, a calculation from number of teeth on the gears can be done, these are normally shown in the parts book. Alternatively engage the main clutch, mark the PTO shaft and front crank pulley, turn the engine one complete turn and check how much the PTO shaft has turned.

By the parts book it looks like the input shaft to the transmission is one shaft all the way back to the pto stub.
The top shaft is the input with the drive flange on the right. The splined end on the left is where the pto is driven from. Other then the parts list in the middle I would say that the shaft would continue through this area because the back end would need more then one bearing to support it.

Dead right, it is one shaft on this design of gearbox, so it runs at engine speed. This will be correct for U series D6, D6B and D5 direct drive which use the same basic design gearbox.
