Juiceman - We might have to talk. You already know how I operate, though. My budget is pretty limited. I do love those whistler D7s, though.
I'm hoping a few of us will make it up to the Sutter truck show on April 9th. If we do, we'll have some old junky trucks to make yours look good and maybe we can talk there.
Pete.

Beware of "will fit".
Here are some dimensions for the 17A rails. (8"pitch) for comparison.
B = 2.62"
C = 4.26"
D = 7.82"
F = 9.88"

Thank you for the measurements!
Does Cat still produce a weld-on rim for these sprockets?

For link assemblies 3P1088 (sealed) and 3P1118 (salt), 8" pitch but not the latest track numbers, C = 4.0"

Thanks OM
I checked the dimensions against the Kom tracks here and they are the same for all measurements except C which is slightly less (about a 16th) but easily within scope given the clearances normally allowed between the sprocket, rails and idler rim.
Pity I can't find a spec sheet for the Kom tracks- that would provide more surety.
WRT the sprockets, they may be difficult to find -Cat here did not have them listed but Berco listed them last year. Also try General Gear for segmented sprocket discs second hand but perfectly usable. Freight from USA was too much for me to get them shipped last year so I will weld on the Berco ones I have.

Thank you! I was just looking at the stuff on General Gear, and the stuff he has pictured is all sold. I'm assuming he doesn't update the website much? I'll give him a try.

Good price! With the money you saved on the purchase new track gear will be more affordable .

Here are some more pictures of the recovery. We pull started it with a 980C, but no pictures of that. The pony hasn't run in quite a while, so I'll have some work to do with that. It runs pretty good, has some blowby, and smokes blue. I'm thinking the blue smoke has to do with bad seals in the turbo. Might just have to take it out and work it.
