Hi, Lady Cat Skinner.
Personally, I don't see that you any need to say you are sorry for anything. You made an offer based on your assessment of what the machine would be worth to you with due regard to transport costs, etc., and maybe also with regard to what you could afford (and that part of it, if it exists, is none of my business nor anybody else's except your's) and you invited discussion of said offer. I don't see anything in there that needs apologizing for.
Old Roman saying: Nil Peanutus Gallerius Carborundum - roughly translates into English as: "Don't let the peanut gallery grind you down." (THAT is the 'polite' version.)
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

lady cat skinner, I'll agree with dpendzic and Deas. You have nothing to apologize for. 22rimfire asked for opinions on value, you offered yours, including some background about why you offered what you did. I wish 22rimfire had responded a little differently, as I took his reply to be a little terse and cheeky. He probably didn't mean it that way, but obviously several others read it the way I did.
I'm glad that you didn't take offense and appreciate your willingness to try to smooth things over.
22rimfire, I'll also echo what ray54 says. I hope we haven't run you off and I hope you'll come on back with more information and to continue the discussion. I think you have a nice machine there, and I'm sure you'll get good information about value opinions here. Heck, you might just get another valid offer to purchase which is more to your liking.
The discussion can and should continue and I'm sure we'd all like to see more information, more pictures and you can count on things progressing in a positive manner.
Pete.
