Just wondering if anyone has a part number or availability of the hand operated fuel primer pump that would have come on a d4 7u with electric start. I've been looking around and can't find the information I'm looking for . Any help would be appreciated thanks

My 7U27570-Up book shows a 5H9877 Fuel Priming Pump Group on tractor 7U28232 for use with 24 volt starting or 5H9869 Fuel Priming Pump Group for 24 volt starting with fender mounted fuel tank, if you need individual part numbers of the unit sing out. I had a quick look on Parts search and none of those 2 numbers show as available anywhere though searching individual parts shows availability, look for
4F7762 Base
2H2483 Barrel assembly (pump)
7B8633 Cap (of pump)
7B8517 Handle assembly

It looks IHM Used Parts might have bits you need, try them on 888 53528 one seven
Good luck
Mike

OM added a self built priming pump and discussed it in this thread. The diagram has disappeared into the ether.

This has the Cat parts page from edb.

Those original hand priming pumps are not worth fixing unless your bent on original. The pump barrel and piston rod is steel and usually are badly corroded. In that state the barrel just tears up the plunger.

Here's the missing pictures, choice of fuel gauge or hour meter in the bracket or just the pump.
I see the BB is back to loading picture sequence backwards again. Worked right for a while.

Hey Old Magnet I cant get those pictures of the primer setup you did.Could you repost them?It would be much appreciated.I purchased one of those brass pumps on ebay but could use a little help hooking it up. It has a check valve in the inlet side of the pump I'm installing it on my 1953 serial number 7/U 25012  Thanks Again!

Thank You OM for posting those pictures.Thats a very neat install,I have purchased the same primer pump you have. I bought it on Ebay and it was listed as 9H2256 - Pump Assembly 7S1251 for Caterpillar. In picture #2 is the black knob by the pre filter a shutoff valve? Does it have to be shut when priming? In picture #4 is the black hose behind the injector pumps going to your fuel pressure gauge on your dash?
