You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Hi, Folks.
Can you imagine the vent piping needed in the fuel tanks to keep those suckers running? LOL.
Nice photos. Thanks for sharing.
Just my 0.02.
Only 1 is a 3500, a 3524 at that out of a 797, the other is a C175.
Yep, that's correct. The 3524 goes in the 797b and the C175 goes in the 797F. The Casper dealership is the major component rebuild shop that supports all of the coal mines in the state. They stock these rebuilt engines to provide next day delivery for the mines. That shop is amazing to go through.
Looks like two 3512s back to back, like a Detroit 16v and up
That's it exactly.
Those are pretty dang cool! Ive never seen two twelves mated up like that. In our industry we have 3520's (what you guys are calling the C175) but of course ours are gas. I had heard that when developing the gas 3520 they had a lot of crankshaft failures from torsional issues.
A 3520 is a different breed than the C175 series.
I see the heads are different but the block looks the same?
Yes, I went back to study it for a while and I think you are right as the Fuel Filters and Injection Pump are in the right place and right style for a C175. It was the Valve covers that through me off.
