Hey Gang,

Can someone tell me what tractor series a D8-B and D8-C models where? I am familiar with D8-D models starting with the 15-a and the D8-E model with the 14-a, but what about the "B" and "C" series?

Where are you getting those letters from?
I don't show any B,C, for D8's
They did use D7C for the 17A to 11878
Then D7D for the 17A11879-up (w/turbo)

D8 13A is a Direct drive w/D13000 (continuation of the 2U)
D8E 14A is a Direct Drive
D8F 14A is a Direct Drive with added oil cooled brakes & steering clutches. s/n 14A3861-up
D8D 15A is a Torque Converter Drive to s/n 15A1672
D8G 15A is a Torque Converter Drive with oil cooled brakes & steering clutches s/n 15A1673-up
D8H 35A is a Torque Converter Drive
D8H 36A is a Direct Drive
D8H 46A is a Power Shift

Hey OldMagnet,

I could be wrong, but the 15-a started as a D8D model with Dry brakes, then became the D8-G model at serial 1673 with wet brakes.

The 14-a was the D8-E model with dry brakes and at serial 3861 became the D8-F model wet brakes.

So I can track the D8-D,E,F,G,H models and so on. Did they have a B and C model D8's?

My best source shows the change for the 15A1673 but does not give it a "D" designation. No use of B & C for D8's

I see the "D" designation for the early 15A in the ACMOC s/n book.

The series production started in late 1959 for the D4C D6B tractors and in 1955 for the D7C,D8E and D9D tractors.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
