+1, no nasty looking hoses or kinked looped lines is best way
Appreciate the help, ... here is what I did today.
1.) Removed the two fittings that screw into the Oil Cooler, ... then I tapped the ID of each fitting to accept a 3/8" NPT internal hex plug and blocked each port.
2.) Flushed all of the old oil and crude out of the cooler ... "just because"...
3.) Reconnected the lines as they were.
4.) Removed the large nut at bottom of filter base and removed oil cooler by-pass plunger.
I thought I was good to go, ..... but now a friend has caused me concern.
SO I HAVE ONE LAST unnecessary question, ... please bear with me!!
A friend came over this PM and said he thought the large plug on the bottom of the filter base was the OIL FILTER by pass valve ....
now I am nervous as I do not have a Service Manual.
Please confirm again that the big nut is in fact
the Oil Cooler by pass.
Sorry to bother you guys, .... Thanks again!
