One more pic of the D2 and grain drill

Wow crazy coincidence, I spent all day today plowing up a 4 acre chunk of my field in preparation for planting hay crop next spring, with a Farmall Super M and 3 bottom IH No.8 plow. The D2 is gonna do all the discing next weekend (weather permitting) so I'll have to get some pics of that. Definitely prefer the steel tracks when driving over the plow furrows, really smoothes out the ride and creates less compaction too.

looking good fellas not that I know anything about the moldboard plough they were never used much out we all used disc ploughs all looks very neat to me there

Guess what I saw over the weekend. A certain 4T series D7 that we last heard of pulling a twin-shank cable ripper was sitting in a corner of a paddock down South of Toowoomba with a li'l itty bitty spring tine cultivator behind it - that a Farmall H would have pulled. I suspect that somebody down thataway might ackshully LIKE the clanking and screeching of dry steel tracks and the dust that they throw up - PLUS maybe also that slow-banging chugging sound from the old 4-banger.

Wonders will . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .?

This weekend we had our annual SteamDown, which we means we know the season is coming to an end for playing in the dirt. We had 3 steam engines, 2 gas tractors and a diesel. In the following pictures you'll see a 1937 C Case, that my grandfather bought brand new when he quit farming with horses. It was converted to rubber in 1939. Also there is a 1951 D2, with which I pull a JD 4-16 plow, and a 1950 G John Deere. Tough plowing all day, haven't had much rain for 2 months. Ground was extremely hard, tough to keep plows in the ground.

No, it was a farm tractor in the Red River Valley, all black dirt no rocks. almost like graphite.
Also 5700 original hours👍👍
