Never heard of a Behlen power steering pump but the Cat add on power steering booster pump/system for the #112 and #12 had pressure relief valve set at 600-750 psi.

Thanks Kelly, The picture on the manual looks exactly like my unit.
Progressing with the Behlen power steering rebuild. I have been able to source new seals suitable for the pressure required and we should have them tomorrow. The unit body disassembles into three pieces. One of the gaskets came off clean but the other is junk. I may have to try to make one but was wondering if anyone has any laying around or knows a source for Behlen parts? I am not familier with using gaskets for holding hydraulic pressure so this new to me. Is there a gasket cement I should use with a hydraulic gasket? Not sure of pressure. I have been told numbers from 600 PSI up to a 1,000 PSI.
Thanks,
Roger
The Behlen Power Steering unit is way better that Cats power steering. catskinner
A couple of weeks ago I put the Behlin Torque Amplifier back on the 212 and to my dismay it did not work well at all. After checking everthing out, its a very simple unit, I discovered that the vane pump went south. It had been making a bit of noise before and had literally fell apart internally. I guess it did not want the work of actually turning the machine. With the help of my hydraulic savey friend I was able to sourse one with a relief that will go low enough to work and recieved it yesterday. Even bolts up correctly as the other one did. Now I just have to cut a wider broach in the pully for the woodruff key to match up. I went thru the hyd lines and the Behlin unit again to insure all was clean so hopefully it works correctly this time.
That'll make that trail job of yours much less tiring Roger. Pretty soon you'll be putting a/c on the top : ) and a sunvisor
A couple of the places I turn around(or back out two miles) I need power steering. The turn around is only about 8 ft longer than the machine so a few back and forths are necessary. Typical straight down railroad grade on both sides.
You probably coulda' powered the blade down and lifted the front wheels off the ground enough to spin them the other way with ease:lever:, if that huge counter-weight of a lunch box wouldn't have been hanging off the front of the grader......:caked:😆
