Yeah until I get my engine enclosure situation squared away, my brushwork in this 100+ degree heat is a real risky business. Thanks for feedback.
For what it's worth,
A good quality
ABC extinguisher
Class A = ordinary combustibles like wood paper & cloth,
Class B = combustible & flammable liquids &
Class C = energized electrical equipment fires is a must. I would not even think of any extinguisher less than 5lbs and lean more toward 10lbs. Now having said that, a dry chemical extinguisher is a great tool if used correctly.
I also keep at minimum 1 - 2.5 gallon Class A pressurized water extinguisher (which is easily recharged with a water hose and air compressor) handy and usually I try for 2 to be on hand or near by because after the fire is knocked down by the dry chemical the water will soak and cool what was burning.
I usually end up with brush, leaves and such wedged somewhere in the engine area of the tractor and do not shut it down for the day until most if not all is removed so something can't get going after I leave the machine. If in doubt dump the water extinguisher in the area of build up and recharge the extinguisher when I get back to the shop, or home.
