WHEATLANDS WARRACKNABEAL 48th Annual vintage machinery rally.
Easter weekend 4th 5th 6th April 2015.
Nearly 50 years ago a group of people in the Warracknabeal district could see major changes were happening and much off the farming history was rapidly being lost forever. The plan was form a museum of local farming history to display the older machinery farming used in the past. I doubt any of them realized they had started to put together one of the largest displays of vintage farm machinery and related items in Australia.
This year the theme is tracked tractors and earth moving equipment.
There will be an area available for demonstrations for those who want to move the earth. Plus a static display area.
Saturday evening there will be a vintage tractor pulling demonstration (no hot rods)
Free camping on site for registered participants with amenities,
Food available at realistic prices.
Monday 6th a bus will be taking those interested to the very large and diverse Wood’s Brothers Farming Heritage Center at Rupanyup. This is an amazing private museum set up by John and Michael woods to display their huge collection of memorabilia. From memory about 40 000 sq ft under cover and full of orderly displays. Also rated as one of Australia’s best.
My goal is to have Cat outnumber the rest but I can use some help if anyone wants to bring a load you will be most welcome.
Anyone wanting more information or rally registration form PM me and I can get that organized for you.

Hi, Wimmera Farmer.
Thanks for the heads up. Now can you let us have some details please, particularly about the camping and registration. Is the camping only for the exhibitors or for anybody who registers for it?

Does this show have a web site yet so that we can go and check it out?

Input? Input? Please?

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Brucester, now you will be able to drive "your" 22 in the tractor pull and give her the flogging she really needed without any worries in the world! I'm thinking of trying to get there with a 2 Ton, not sure if it will be pulled there on a trailer behind the Massey Harris 44K, I need to do some time trials and check out a back roads route, it will be about 200 miles each way so will take me a couple of days to drive there at 12mph flat out.

Hi Steve, I reckon there will be a chance if I'm still above ground, and Anna the Saint hasn't taken away my keys! Thanks for the photo of the wooden crawler, that was a neat bit of work.

Colin, are there showers there at Warracknabeal, if I end up rolling out a swag for a few days? Can you email me a entry form please.

Anna the Saint and I called into Warracknabeal last Easter for a quick look and I was very impressed with the huge number of tractors that the organizers had dragged out of the sheds and set up as a static display, and it seemed there were twice as many still jammed in sheds, even a nice old RD6 that just needs a kick in the guts to get her purring again.
Regards
Mike

Hi, Mike M.
Funny how hard it can be to get information about some things, ain't it. I have just made TWO phone calls, one to the Historical Society on the number listed on their web site and the second to a number given me from there. The lady at the historical society didn't know anything about any camping on site - or about anything much at all it seemed, but she did give me another number to call, which asked me to leave a message. Said message has been left and I will await further results.

There is SBA on the web site about any camping or facilities for such. Seems like whoever built their web site wasn't hardly on the ball if there is indeed camping on site. Then again, there ain't much of anything else on the web site either. Could it be that these wonderful people who put so much effort and time into this show are being let down a bit by the 'Hysterical' Society?

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Hi Deas, I guess maybe most the folks there are like me and not really good at computer stuff and just assume the word get's out about the great Museum and their annual Rally, it seems to me there is a lot of work involved in setting up and maintaining web sites and nothing is free anymore is it, like internet access.

About the lady you spoke to on the phone, I reckon she probably didn't understand your accent either...
Regards
Mike
