I see that a 491 scraper will be the next model to go with the D9E but i was just wondering if there will be a continuance with Norscot for some more classics like the 22,12 and 977 sometime in the near future.

To Gavin84w, Two Norscot models are planned in the near future. A Twenty and a 572. These will be market by Norscot like the #12 and 977.

Is it a big(PL) 20 or a small (8C) 20? What is the scale? Just curious because I own one. Thanks!

The Twenty is a big Twenty. The scale is 1:16.

Sorry for the delay. My memory was hazy so I had to check with the expert.

Hi, new member here. I'm not an ACMOC member, but have just begun collecting 1/16 scale models and read some complaints about the Norscot 22. I am hoping to get one of the Speccast D2 models, and am wondering what the problem with the Norscots is/was? I don't have the budgets for buying high end models, and even the Norscot is pushing my prefered price range. I can understand owners of the real machines being upset by inacuracies, but to be honest I' doubt I'd ever be able to tell the difference as a hobbyist. To the uninformed eye the norscot looks pretty nice - vastly superior to anything I've seen so far from Ertl for example.

I'm also interested in the upcoming 20, but wasn't too thrilled to find out that the images being used to promote this model are of a real crawler - no wonder it looks good! Any idea whether this model will be grey as pictured or yellow, and will the side panels be removeable/included like the D2s?

BTW, as an outsider I would also like to respond to some comments about the mass market ACMOC Norscots, primarily that I would never have heard of ACMOC if it wasn't for the 22 model, and while I have no issue with models being exclusive to ACMOC (until they hit eBay!), it is nice that some better quality/larger scale models are available to the general public, as they are very interesting machines that I would never have known about otherwise.

Hope I'm not offending anyone!

Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

Exclusive to ACMOC means ACMOC is the only group that sells them. Anyone can buy them directly from ACMOC. You don't have to wait for Ebay.

The PL 20 was painted gray, so the model should be gray.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for clarifications. I like the grey, so I'm hoping the model is grey. I'm looking forward to actual model pics - speaking of which, is there somewhere on the net that has collections of pictures of some of these models? I found a few on auction sites, but I'd love to find some shots of all the ACMOC models (at least the 1/16 ones).

I see other dealers carrying a couple of the ACMOC models as well, hence the confusion.

Hi Jeff,

Yes, the 20 is planned to be gray. And it looks pretty nice. :) However, you will not be able to buy the 20 from ACMOC as it will be marketed and sold by Norscot.

Pictures of all five of the D2s are included in the current issue of the club magazine. Both D9s are pictured in the magazine as well, but they are 1:25 scale.

It is interesting to note that the club has issued 24 models, or variations of models, to date, many of which are sold out. That count does not include any of the Norscot models, only those that are exclusive to ACMOC.

You are right, you will see dealers on eBay selling the exclusive ACMOC Models. But they have to buy them from the club at the same price that members pay for them. So the ebay prices on the D9s tend to run $50 to $100 more than the club price.

We would welcome you to join the club if you're so inclined. With membership comes an opportunity to buy models at a reduced price during the introductory pre-sell period. The club magazine, issued 6 times per year, is also included. But the biggest benefit of all is the opportunity to get to know a lot of good people who are intense fans of Caterpillar equipment, models, and memorabilia. :)

Regards,
Lee
