Hi,
I wanted to know if it is possible to apply to my CAT 951 a root rake.
Were mounted on these machines? Are productive with this equipment?

I was planning to make a quick application similar to those for the dozers but for crawler loader as my I did not find anything.

Do you have any information about this?

Hello and thanks for the reply!

Since I come from you do not find anything like that, I was thinking to fabricate one, but made like that of the dozer and fixed by two pins, that is to be applied in front of the bucket, it is possible for you?
Compared with the bucket, with the root rake strives more the loader?

Yes you could make something that mounted to the front of the bucket. The one I have replaces the bucket and is quite heavy. I can take some pictures and send them to you, but it will be awhile before I am back to the property where the machine is at.

Hi, Cat 951.
Yes, you can make a root rake for a track front end loader. I used one that chained to the bucket of a Cat 941. It was about 12 feet wide and the end 2 feet on each side was angled forward, something like a U-blade on a dozer, to better hold the sticks, roots, logs, etc., in front of the rake. This one was designed so that the teeth of the bucket fitted between the tines of the rake but did not extend down as far as the tines did. It was also designed so that the bucket was at about half-dump angle when the rake was standing vertical which allowed for some lifting of the load by rolling the bucket back, very handy when pushing a load of the side of a burn pile.

This rake also had solid 1/4" plate right across the front of the bucket to stop the bucket filling up with debris which could become pretty difficult to get out without removing the whole rake, not to mention that a bucket full of debris plus the weight of the rake would be pretty heavy on the front idlers.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

I helped a friend make a pin on rake for a track loader. We made it for brush clearing and rock sorting. We were sifting river run for a certain size river stones and the rake did a great job just rake them up and roll the bucket back. Worked great for brush clearing and stacking or loading out. Do a general search for Mann brush rake for crawler loader and you will see how they are built. Good luck. Charlie

Thanks to everyone for the valuable input!
I'm clean 120000m^2 of land, but maybe I'll use a shredder, because isn't very hard vegetation.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
