These tractors are on the north edge of town and on the west side of U.S. Hwy 183. Coldwater, KS is a small town only a few miles north of Oklahoma. I first saw these tractors in 2001. I met the owner's son back then and he said there was no interest in selling them.
I am posting these without re-sizing to show more detail. I don't know how many large attachments will fit so I will post the rest as replies. We took these photos in May and I am just now posting them.
I was prompted to post them when I noticed Coldwater listed on the back of this 32 page D-7 sales brochure that I purchased recently as having a Foley Caterpillar Dealership! The seller was from Harper KS.
I would appreciate any info about the Coldwater dealership.
Thanks,
Craig

It takes a while with my connection.
There is a total of 4 tractors in the group.
Thanks,
Craig

To bad they are just sitting around as yard art. Looks like they would be some good projects. At least the exhaust is covered. Won't be long and the cans will be rusted thru, or at least they would be here from the snow and rain setting on them. Maybe the owner has realized its time to get them to a good home. Might be worth asking again.

My wife's sister lives a few miles South of Coldwater. I have travelled back and forth through there quite a few times. A year or two ago my wife happened to go by there when the folks were working at the shop. She struck up a conversation with the Dad. Same story, not interested right now.
Here are the pictures that I have. Nice to see that nothing has moved.
If Mother Nature doesn't get em, the scrap man probably will.
Don't know anything about a Foley dealership there though. The guy that owns the tractors and his family are pretty big medicine around there I think. Kinda makes sense that they would have the biggest and best available at the time.

Thank you seiscat for posting the pics as this brings back a lot of memories for me as I spied them back in 03 when I was trucking there. All I wished I could do was put them in my suit case pay the excess in weight and be on my way. Shame they are sitting but the scrap man has not won yet?

Maybe the family plan is to restore them some day. Enlighten them a about the ACMOC. Maybe knowing there are others out there with information and advice will spur them to restore the machines. Then we will get a new member or two and also get to see them running.

I am the owner of the old Cats in Coldwater, Darrol D8H. My wife of 62 years passed away, a year ago and I have not visited the Bulletin Board until now. I recall visiting with a nice lady about them. The 2U D8 will run, not so the others. I enjoy looking at them every time I go to the shop. I am trying to get local mechanic to get the sixty to running. I am too old to do anything (87). Still drive MT 765 challenger to help out farming. I am glad to see interest in the old tractors.

Your pictures make me think of how many more of these old tractors are just sitting around like these.Back here in eastern pa bout the only tractors you see are the ones that are up in the old coal striplings.
