G,Day Nick. I had a look at the RD4 . Needs alot of work and has been in the weather for along time with out being properly sealed up. Achievable with dedication. Hope this helps . Andrew K.
Gidday Andrew, good of you to chime in with your observations for Nick, restoring these old Cats costs a arm and a leg on a good one, the rough one's can bankrupt you financially, what's worse is trucking a shot one across country just to find it has been full of water for 30+ years.
Nick, get hold of "Stuss" here on ACMOC via a private message, he is down at Albany and is dragging home some old Cats to save, there are still a lot of old Cats in WA, many are shot, but if you buy them for the right price, ie scrap steel price, then you have half a chance, shipping rubbish 2,000 miles across Oz will kill you, unless your last name is Forrest or Hancock.
Good luck
Mike
Here is a couple for you Nick. Im surprised the one in Mildura hasn't entered Mikes personal collection.
They come up for sale from time to time. Shipping from the east can be a killer.

I've been watching that 22 Steve because it is "only" 4 hours drive from me, but at $6,000 his price is too high for my budget on rough 22's, I did pick up another 22 recently that was only 10 miles away from home and a third of the price, the guy who sold it to me had only paid about $1,200 for her a few years ago, so he made a nice profit, hopefully I get her running without too many drama's, supposedly she was running when parked, but weren't they all?

Thanks fellas, Yeah the freight was the killer about $5000 min and it does look pretty weathered but was complete and the blade assy look original and tidy but still too much.
Would be sad to see it go for scrap but would probably be foolish to commit to it without seeing it in person.
Might have to get onto that fella down in Albany, It is within my range.
