First post from a new owner to a 40+ year old 941 track loader, had the pleasure of having a hydraulic hose blow out on the bucket lift arm this weekend. Removal was pretty straightforward, took it to my local hydraulic hose shop, they had the correct fittings to make up the hose but this particular hose had a ~ 3/4" thick captive 4 bolt hydraulic flange on one end and they recommended cutting it in half so I could use their hose.
Just curious if this was a standard practice, or should I make the drive to the local Cat dealer and see if they can fab up a hose with the captive flange in place.
I've never seen a complete circle, only halves.....They seem to work just fine.
I would use a hacksaw instead of a chop saw, so you don't loose much material.
